Not an orphan - part two
It's been a while since I posted here - not because there have been no chair orphans to photograph. Mostly because it was getting a little excessive screeching to a stop every time I spied an abandoned chair.
Chairs are the casualties of moving day and they clutter alleyways - often early in the month when leases are up and people head out to their new places.
Not an abandoned casualty is my desk chair, newly covered, sporting it's hound's tooth seat cover. The pattern is a sly nod to the hound of the house, shown here snoozing in the sun:

Adopted
My definition of a chair orphan continues to take shape. A chair that's for sale in a store, garage sale or any other type of business is not an orphan. How about a chair that's part of a heap in the back of a pick-up truck? Probably an orphan.
But the following chairs are not orphans because I've adopted them:
This chair, they say, originated from The Breaker's Pub in Point Roberts. No doubt it's seen some good times.

The chair below is the one that got this whole chair-orphan ball rolling. I can see it all refurbished, sporting some plush brown velvet upholstery. I'll have to save my pennies though - that kind of face lift doesn't come cheap.
Chair deletion
That's what happens when you leave your pictures on your camera rather than saving them. I was collectng a few more chair orphan pictures to post here, but then accidentally deleted them. I hope I've learned my lesson.
Note: after writing this sad treatise on chair deletion, I discover the pictures (though not very impressive) are actually not at all deleted, but safely stored on my memory stick.
